And Then the Rain Came

We were away for a couple of weeks in late May to see our family in Virginia. While we were gone, it rained. And rained. And rained some more. And it looks like a season of rain is in store for early summer. We needed it. Thank you Creator, Lord, sustainer of all things.

We loved being with our granddaughter and her parents. Along the way we stopped in several southern coastal cities like Savannah, Georgia for some historical perspective. Once in Virginia, the weather was most cooperative and the days went too quickly. It was a great visit in the Blue Ridge and Skyline Drive area near Afton, VA.  I must say that holding and napping with my granddaughter was just about the best feeling in the world. Thank goodness for smart phones and digital photography so that we can "see" her grow. We will be back for a short visit in the Autumn.

I'm doing some pulpit supply preaching these days in addition to working part time as a Hospice Chaplain. Life is good on the family farm. Texas is too hot as usual, but at least it is raining. And we have more wildlife activity - see the new resident in attached photo.
