Retired but still a pastor. I decided to reactivate my Pastor Notes as an active page on this shared space. Archived are notes from ministry settings since 2017 when I created this Weebly webpage. I will add to them when the opportunity arises. Laura and I are living in the Coastal Bend of Texas on a family farm where we were invited to add a Retirement Cabin to the compound. Other notes on this site detail the cabin build so just a reminder here for context. "The Place" is what the family calls this acreage along the Papalote Creek in the northwest corner of San Patricio County, Texas. Four generations have called this place home. We are honored to be a part of this family community. It is planting season around here. And we have not had enough rain. So bad is the drought, you may have heard about the extreme water crisis facing Corpus Christi. We obtain water from a water well drawing on an aquifer that has supported these four generations for over 100 years. Corpus Christi now wants to access this area's water for its ongoing needs. Big issue facing the residents of Sinton and St. Paul, Texas. Recently the District Superintendent in our area of United Methodist churches asked me to keep a few sermons ready for the just-in-case phone call from an active colleague or two. I went back to files and found my Top Ten favorite sermon stories and will get them current. I'm retired from the pastoral ministry, but being a pastor will always be part of my identity. More soon... Along the Way Pastor Paul

Thanks for saying yes to that superintendent’s nudge. Glad to see you activating this space for sharing your thoughts. No doubt God is at work in and through you, brother in Christ. Personally concerned and daily praying about that water situation that feels very personal for me, though in different ways than it is for you and family. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayers.
