As we made our way along the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path today, we decided to forgo the remainder of our walk north of St Davids Head. After coming from St Justinians around Point of St John and on to White Sands, we walked up to a rocky point on St Davids Head and enjoyed the view of St George's Channel and a hazy horizon toward Ireland.
Ben and I had spoken of a detour up to a high spot called Carn Llidi. We committed to it after a short break and half our our lunch. The 200 feet gain in elevation was well worth the climb. We could easily see the entirety of St Davids peninsula with the City of St Davids. Beyond we could see our previous Path around St Brides Bay. This detour separated us from most of the group who ventured on toward Aberrddi. But the change in perspective was worth it!
